One of the reasons why this oil is so popular for cooking is because it consists of less saturated fat as compared to any other oil and this further helps to control cholesterol levels. One of the major health benefits of canola oil is that it is high in terms of the good fats.  Canola oil is rich in Alpha-Linolenic Acid or ALA as well as Linolenic Acid or LA. Both these fatty acids are polyunsaturated and the oil also consists of high amounts of heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids, which have the ability to lower the levels of the bad cholesterol present in our blood.

Lowest in Bad Fats

When comparing canola oil with all the other vegetable oils present in the market, it is found that this oil has the lowest level of  bad fats which are not good for the health of humans.  This means that canola oil is low in terms of saturated fats as well as Trans fats which can both raise the bad cholesterol in the body and may not prove to be good for the heart health.
