332 Crore Budget to Check Swine Flu

ghulam_nabi_azadAccording to this Hindustan Times report, the Indian central government has pledged over Rs 332 crores to undertaking health measures that will help to check the spread of the H1N1 Swine flu virus according to health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.

“The central government has so far spent or committed funds to the tune of Rs 332.92 crore (on swine flu). Direct financial assistance to the states has been in the form of Oseltamivir supplied to the states and for training,” the health minister was quoted as having said in the Lok Sabha.

Since a large number of cases are now being reported from Rajasthan and Kerala, the Central Rapid Response Teams are visiting them and forty-one laboratories have been made operational across the country for testing clinical samples, he added.
