Delhi Swine Flu Round Up

Many schools in Delhi are still playing it safe by shutting down for a time as their students test positive for the H1N1 Swine Flu virus. While one school shut down earlier this week , another has preponed the Diwali holidays a day or a few days in to limit contagion and spread of the virus.
Meanwhile the Delhi government authorized two more private hospitals to treat swine flu patients yesterday. 48 new cases of the disease were reported in the capital yesterday. According to Delhi health minister Kiran Walia, these hospitals would each establish a 20-bed isolation ward for those with the H1N1 virus.
So far, Delhi has reported over 3,279 cases of swine flu and 15 people have died of the disease. Yesterday three more people were confirmed dead of A H1N1 in Maharashtra, taking the Swine Flu death toll to 399. Maharashtra has now accounted for 168 Swine flu deaths, while Karnataka is at second place with 112 Swine Flu casualties. 150 new cases of Swine Flu were reported across the country, taking the total number of affected people to 12,334.
Out of the 150 new cases, 48 were reported from Delhi. Karnataka reported 23 new cases, followed by Kerala (21), Tamil Nadu (19), Maharashtra (19), and Haryana (16).
