India’s Swine Flu Toll Edging Close to 400

Health-flu-India-As of yesterday, 13 October 2009, the H1N1 Swine Flu toll in India stands at 396. The seven deaths that occurred yesterday, included 5 fatalities in Maharashtra.

It is commonly observed that test reports for Swine flu testing are arriving only after the patient has died. This was observed in Maharashtra that lab reports confirmed the individuals as testing positive for swine flu after they have died; this has also been seen in Karnataka.

The current number of positive Swine flu cases in India stands at 12,185. New cases reported were Maharasthra (23), Karnataka (22), Tamil Nadu (22), Kerala (13), Haryana (8), Uttar Pradesh (7) and Gujarat (4).
