India Swine Flu Update

First-swine-flu-Death-in-IndiaAccording to a recent PTI report, the death toll from Swine flu victims who have succumbed to the H1N1 virus is inching closer to the 100 mark, and as of the present time has climbed up to 89 deaths in the country. The total number affected with the contagious disease is currently about 3,396.

More than half of the fatalities have occurred in Maharashtra with 47 deaths. It was also in Maharashtra that the country witnessed its first swine flu victim Rida from Pune. Of the fatalities in Maharashtra twenty five have been in Pune, ten in Mumbai, seven in Nashik, two in Aurangabad and one each in Dhule and Latur.
