Swine Flu Death Toll in India Rises Above 200
According to fresh reports coming in from the BBC, the death toll in India from the H1N1 Swine Flu virus has now crossed 200. The total number of reported swine flu cases in India is now more than 6500 and positive cases have been identified in each of the 28 states.
Maharashtra still has the highest number of people who have died from the H1N1 virus with 87 deaths. Karnataka has reported 66 deaths followed by Gujarat with 18.
Some 3000 people have died from Swine flu worldwide and efforts are currently on to develop an efficacious vaccine to fight the virus.
