Swine Flu Impacting Tourism in Country

There are a number of factors that impact tourism in India and the factors that impact it negatively are the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks of last year and the H1N1 Swine flu pandemic. This is the view of the Union Tourism Minister Kumari Shelja.

“Owing to the terror attack on Mumbai, subsequent Swine flu scare and global recession, tourism has taken a hit in India as well,” she was quoted as having said according to this report.  According to the minister there has been a decline of over 10% in amount of foreign exchange earned when compared with last year.
