Swine Flu Vaccine by Mid December says Drug Controller General

There is an expectation that there will be a rise in the cases of H1N1 Swine flu by winter, because it has been observed that December and January are the two months when the flu-related cases are traditionally been reported most in the country. Therefore the government plans to launch Swine flu vaccines by mid December, according to Drug Controller General of India Surinder Singh.
Orders for the vaccines have not been placed till now, however, and the ministry officials will be meeting soon to take appropriate decisions on the matter. Earlier, the government has written to the four multi-national drug companies to include India in the process of global clinical trials conducted by them for the development of clinical trials, according to this Times of India article.
