Virus Studies Reveal this Strain may not mix with others

swine flu studyAccording to a report in the Times of India the H1N1 Swine flu virus multiplies twice as fast as other viruses within the human body, which of course makes it more dangerous, but reportedly it is this very quality that may make it less able to interact and mix with other stains. It is therefore less likely to mix with other viruses to form a new and more virulent superbug.

The study was conducted in ferrets and it was found that this virus is more infectious and was able to enter the body while other viruses were warded off by the body’s immune system. In the ferrets as well the virus was able to attack the lungs directly which is a feature of this virus and imparts it its deadliness and particular virulence.

So the study was able to conclude that this virus is more communicable and more virulent in the way that it is able to cause fatalities however the good news is that it is not easily able to react to other viruses to form what is known as a reassortant virus. It was also found that H1N1 pandemic virus has a clear biological advantage over the two main seasonal flu strains and all the makings of a virus fully adapted to humans.
