Menopause, in simple words is the phase in a woman’s life when blood stops flowing out from her womb every month, when a woman stops menstruating. It is the natural closedown of menstruation that usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. Also this is the phase in a woman’s life, when her ovaries stop producing eggs and the level of oestrogen and progesterone gradually declines.
Which was said to be monthly periods, now occurs less frequent and this phase is called menopausal transition or perimenopause. When your periods stops almost for a year then that phase is called post-menopause and you are no longer able to get pregnant.
Is this Natural?
Menopause is a natural phenomena that takes place in most of the females at an average age of 51; sooner or later. But if you are diagnosed with breast cancer before menopause, then the treatment of cancer can abruptly stop your menstrual cycle causing menopause. Thus is called surgical or induced menopause where it is not natural, rather effects of medicines or treatment. Menopause causes a sudden and dramatic change in your body. It lowers the oestrogen and progesterone level in your body.
